South Decatur Cougars Varsity Lose To Greensburg (IN)
South Decatur fell to Greensburg on Saturday, 80-63, even with Oakley Billingsley scoring 18 points.
Even though South Decatur Cougars Varsity added 22 points in the final quarter, they failed to make a comeback. South Decatur played aggressively throughout, accumulating 22 fouls over the course of the game.
Billingsley had a great game from the field, making 42% (5-for-12) of shots attempted as well as 57% (4-for-7) of threes attempted. He also shot well from the line, making 100% (4-for-4) of free throws attempted.
Two other players also racked up double digit scores for South Decatur. Matt Cornett had 17 points and Nathan Benge scored 14 points. Also helping the effort for South Decatur were Jacob Watts (5 points), Nick Benge (5 points, 3 rebounds, 1 block), and Kyle Johannigman (3 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal). Cornett was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up eight rebounds, one steal and one block.
South Decatur finished the game with 26 rebounds (10 offensive / 16 defensive), three blocks and six steals.
